Album Review - The Warning - Keep Me Fed
The Warning are back with their fourth entry Keep Me Fed.
I’m relatively new to The Warning. Uncovering them in 2022 as a casual listener. 2024 changed all that. From their work with Band-Maid to their latest record ‘Keep Me Fed.’ The Warning has my full attention.
The three sisters hold nothing back, kicking off with the explosive ‘Six Feet Deep.’ It is a track filled with controlled anger and orchestrated vengeance, setting up the themes of this fast and furious record.
They don’t slow down as their fist single ‘S!ck’ follows, a piece of musical attitude that blends modern rock's sensibilities with classic rock's style, to feel fresh and new. The most exciting track on the album is ‘Que Mas Quieres’ sung entirely in the Mexican sister’s native Spanish. A track exciting because like many J-Rock bands shows a resilience to not dilute who they are or where they come from in pursuit of success.
A powerful track about mental manipulation and gaslighting made the more impactful as you don’t have to understand the lyrics to feel their power. Daniela’s vocals hold an angst and energy that’s impressive throughout but feels rawer here.
Keep Me Fed is a no-holds-barred thrill ride from beginning to end. From the raw and relatable vocals to the blood-pumping percussion from Paulina, especially on tracks like ‘Satisfied’ This is all underscored by the seductive bounce of Alejandra’s bass.
Four albums in Keep Me Fed feel like this is just the start. A band that is only going to get louder, fiercer, and better than ever. The Warning are on their way to becoming household names of rock.
