Music Spotlight - We're Trying Records - March '25
Beach Shoppe drop their debut album and Left on the Right drop their new single. Current music news from We're Trying Records.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Music Spotlight section or covered anything music-related on this page. The reason is that I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of fiction writing, and it has been my main focus recently. However, while writing fiction like The Bog, I’ve been listening to some great new music. I wanted to share some of that music with you today.
Beach Shoppe Drop Debut Album - Boating School
Long Island emo trio Beach Shoppe have delivered their debut album – Boating School at the end of February. The record is the culmination of years of the band growing together as friends, overcoming loss, hardships, and failures. Seven tracks were born in the countless nights of parking lot cigarettes, warm beers, and a sweaty basement rehearsal space.
They describe this album as them pushing themselves creatively and driving to new heights. A standout is the track Kirkland that explores the anger you can feel when losing a loved one, which can outweigh the sadness at times. Inspired by the passing of Zach’s brother due to an overdose.
Left of the Righ Drops Their Debut Single
The Emo/Punk/Rock outfit is set to release its debut album Bad Jazz (Fine Emo) on Apri 4th. Before then they are releasing “Garage Season” their first singl efrom the album.
“Garage Season” is a silly song that sheds light on hanging out with your homies and having a good time and about how friendships build the strongest families. Much love to the homies because without them, there’d be no us.
